Onalaska First Assembly
Logo Design for REvitalized Church
Onalaska, TX is situated along the shores of Lake Livingston. In 2014, Onalaska First Assembly looked to revitalize their long-standing church – and they looked to the lake for inspiration.
Lake-lovers of all ages, from families with young children to retired couples and every stage in between, flock to Lake Livingston in search of the lake-lifestyle. OFA wanted to build a church for them all.
I drew inspiration for their logo from the lake itself, creating a subtle wave effect around the O, which doubles as a logo mark. In addition I combined a traditional and a modern font to appeal to all generations.
Within 2 years, OFA's church family grew by 300%, from 25 to 100 members!
Many important moments in the life of Jesus happened near a lake. The calling of Simon and Peter to follow Him, the calming of a great storm, the feeding of 5000. It was on a lake that Jesus brought in a catch of fish so large it threatened to overtake the boat. On that same lake, he called the fishermen to become fishers of men. Why should not miracles of the same quality happen around our lake, here and now?
